The Japanese economy showed signs of improving again, with the good performance in the first half of fiscal 2004 due to the growing private demand such as individual consumption and investment, although it had a temporary negative impact of the global adjustment in the IT–related industry in the latter half of the year.
As a result, the nation’s economy grew by 0.5 % in nominal terms, and 1.7% in real terms. |
Nagano Prefecture’s economy did not see a full-fledged recovery as private demands such as individual consumption remained flat. However, trends continued picking up especially in the production industry.
As a result, the nominal economic growth rate decreased by 0.7%, and the real term rate increased by 2.1% which made a back-to-back increase from the previous year.
